International Symposium

Jun 26, 2013

The second international symposium on human rights and the environment, “Re-imagining the Relationship between Human Rights and the Environment II,” is being held this year at the Earth Charter Institute in Costa Rica. Sponsored by the Global Network for the Study of Human Rights and the Environment (GNHRE), this year’s conference builds on the work done at the first GNHRE syimposium in June 2012 at the International Institute for the Sociology of Law in Oñati, Spain.

EHRA will be presenting a paper on a human rights approach to hydraulic fracturing for natural gas, titled “Should New York Pass Gas or No Fracking Way? A Review of the New York State Fracking Debate from a Human Rights Perspective.”
